KIM HYUNG JUN FAN-MEET 2011
Kim Hyung Jun was recently in Singapore for a fan-meeting, which was held at Rock Auditorium, 18th June 2011. Triple S who were all clad in green (official colour for SS501) and their cheering goods, filled the auditorium. And proving Hyung Jun Baby’s (HJB) popularity, Triple S from Thailand, Shanghai and even Russia were even present for the fan-meet. No doubt that SS501 is popular worldwide.
HJB kicked off his fan meet with a performance of “oH! aH!”, of which TripleS were enthusiastically shouting the fan chant and singing along to every word of the song.
After such a exciting opening act, Ken taught HJB how to speak Singlish and it is no doubt that he is the merry-maker in SS501. He sportingly (and jokingly) said pointed to Ken and said “He not handsome sia” and to the fans “I love you all la.” At one point, HJB was asked who he would like to collaborate with and Triple S shouted “JUNGMIN!” (fellow SS501 member) and in reply HJB said “Jungmin is not sexy, not cute, not handsome! He is a horse!” sending the crowd into pits of laughter. To those who are wondering, Jungmin has a nickname of ‘Horse’ in SS501 as he looks like one and he loves eating carrots, hence the nickname.
After a short interview, a lucky fan (from Thailand) got her portrait drawn by HJB himself. Seems like both Kim Brothers loves drawing?
HJB was all about fan service that night. Not only did Hyung Jun serenade a lucky Russian fan with his song ‘I Am’, he even requested to re-take photos with 5 lucky fans who initially had the chance to take photo with him that night but with specific body parts only as the photos did not turn out well. Spotting three cute little girls in amongst the sea of screaming Triple S, HJB also requested to take photos with the three girls. When asked, HJB said he knows he will be a good husband/father in the future and he would like to have ten kids – so that he can form a soccer, basketball and swimming team.
HJB also performed songs like ‘Heaven’, ‘Nobody But You’ and ‘Girl’ of which fellow Triple S chorused loudly along with.
Triple S also presented a short surprise for HJB. The video that they made for him, was broadcasted and HJB was very touched. Not only was HJB presented with a video, he was also given a specially customized trophy, a copy of the homemade video and a letter written to him by Triple S. The translator helped to read the heartfelt letter and HJB was obviously on the verge of crying but he held it all in. He even commented that he feels that he is always on the receiving end but fans assured him that he is definitely not and has given the fans a lot more than what he thinks he has.
HJB concluded his Singapore fan meet with a performance of ‘U R Man’ and a encore performance of ‘oH! aH!’ Though many Triple S wished that his fellow members were there to perform the song ‘U R Man’ with him, it was nonetheless, still an amazing performance and a fan meeting that Triple S will never forget.
