Klub Party – Klub K'rave

“Huh? Video mixing, what’s that?” “Oh, it’s just like song mixing but it is with videos! How cool is that right!”

For the very first time in Singapore, Colored Rhythms, the same people who pioneered K-pop partying here, had brought to us yet another Klub party—Klub K’rave, with the all-so-cool addition of K-pop live video mixing by DJ Funky T! Frequent Klub Party goers would definitely find DJ Funky T no stranger for he has displayed his amazing deejaying skills in past Klub parties. And not just that, because there was live streaming of the event, people from around the world could watch as the klubbers party the night away.

The man behind the great night, DJ Funky T.

Taking place on Saturday, June 18th 2011, at Beer Market located in Clarke Quay, DJ Funky T started the night off with TVXQ’s hottest comeback song “Keep Your Head Down” which sent the crowd crazy with screams upon seeing the faces of the two members on the screen. Two guys from the crowd even went up on stage and started to dance along as the video played behind them. Then DJ Funky T caught everyone by surprise when Rain’s “Hip Song” performance video was mixed in suddenly but timely. And of course, the crowd responded positively and was grooving to the song in no time.

If you think the night consisted only of the Korean dudes then you are wrong. Up next was f(x)’s “Nu ABO” followed by Boa’s “Eat you up”. And of course, artistes from YG Entertainment such as Big Bang, 2NE1 and SE7EN were also included in the video mix alongside with Lee Hyori, Kara, After School, SNSD, Miss A, Shinee, 2PM, BEAST and so on. Some of the braver klubbers of the night who knew the dance steps to the songs were also up on stage, strutting their stuff and enjoying themselves.

For most of the time, pockets of the crowd were moving along to the songs while the rest of them were totally absorbed by the video that was playing on the screen, a job well mixed by DJ Funky T. However, the whole crowd got really high (pun unintended) when DJ Funky T belted out “High High”, a number by Big Bang’s GD and TOP. Everyone went wild, singing and dancing all together. Riding on the crowd’s energy, DJ Funky T dished out BEAST’s newest comeback song “Fiction” where klubbers moved enthusiastically to it.

High high touch the sky~

And so, this was how the night continued; with more great songs and more awesome video mixing. What a way to spend the Saturday night—Saturday Night K-pop Fever!

SG K-Wave would like to thank Colored Rhythms for the opportunity to cover the event.
