"Specially For Xanderettes" – Alexander Singapore Fan Meeting

On 14th July, many local Xanderettes gathered at Movida, St James Power Station for the “Specially for Xanderettes” fan party. After a short introduction, the fan party kicked off with Xander performing his English version of “Bad Girl”.

Xander showed his fun-loving and friendly nature through the interviews. When asked for his definition of a bad girl, he defines the term as somebody who plays with your heart, drawing loud cheers from the fans. In the mist of the interview, Xander spotted a pretty balloon doll that a fan was holding and he took it over and stationed it on the stage behind where he was.

As part of the interview, a game session was conducted with 5 lucky fans. This game not only boosts interactions between Xander and Xanderettes, we also get to know more of Xander through the simple game of a yes-or-no quiz. The first question of whether the name Alexander was from his father, successfully tricked some fans. As the answer to this is no, and he further explained that the name was from his grandfather and not his father. Questions 2 and 3 are relatively simple for the Xanderettes, as they asked about Xander’s blood type, and favourite colour. However, he himself was surprised when the fans are aware that he loves white. He was amazed and wondering how did they come to know about it as he said that he has never mentioned it publicly. The 4th question about Xander’s shoe size was too difficult and he came up with another one question, asking his fans if his height is 183cm. Upon hearing this, Xanderettes from below the stage shouted “no” in unison. The 5th question seems to be rather impromptu, asking if he has 3 of his fingernails polished. Back-facing the fans on stage, Xander sneakily showed his hands to the audience, which proved that only 2 of his fingernails is polished with nail art.

The second song of the night was “I Just”. From the interview after the song, Xander showed his whimsical side as he commented that the stage was so close to the fans that he was worried if he might unconsciously spit saliva on them.

Xander then taught the fans some dance parts of his next performance, the Kimchi Song. Since it is a cheerful and fun song, he asks the fans to join him in the dance as the emcee requested them to put down their cameras and enjoy throughout the song.

Xander moved around the stage in search of the fans to participate in another Q&A game. He played scissors paper stone among them and only those who won were able join him on stage. The fans were supposed to show their answers to the questions asked by the emcee on the white boards. Through this game, Xander disclosed that his favourite super hero is superman and the guitar is his favourite musical instrument. He also prefers durians to bubble tea and he loves roses. The lucky fan that got most of the questions correct, received a personal gift from Xander, and that was his pink bracelet that he was wearing that night.

A special gift was prepared for Xander too. A fan-made video was shown on screen. Throughout the video, fans were holding up their banners which stated “Just Be Happy”. When the video ended, he was really touched and said that he was trying hard to hold back his tears. While holding a banner handed to him, Xander extends his heartfelt messages to the fans. He said that life is short, and the most important thing is to be happy and treasure your loved ones. He also talked about how tough it was when he left U-Kiss and he felt bad and worried if the fans would forget him.

The emcee cued the fans to sing a happy birthday song, and two Xanderettes came on stage to hand over their presents to Xander on behalf of everyone. Then again, Xander gave inspiring and encouraging words such as don’t give up, and dream big. He went on to cut the durian birthday cake and made a wish as usual.

After the last performance of the day, “Oh! Baby”, Xander stated that he may be doing another drama in China and upon fans’request, he did an aegyo of “buing buing” signalling the end of the fan party.
